Soft Dog Treats

Do you have an older dog or a dog with difficulty chewing?

Soft Dog Treats
Ingredients:
1 6 oz. jar baby food (any flavor)
1 can tuna in the water
¼ cup powdered milk
¾ cup Cream of Wheat

Directions:
Dump all the ingredients together into a bowl and mix with a fork. Line an 8 inch square pyrex dish with aluminum foil and spray with cooking spray.
Bake for 15 min. in a 325 degree oven. Turn it off and let them continue cooking for another 5 minutes in the oven. Then take them out to cool.
The consistency is that of slightly undercooked brownies. If you want to cook them for an additional 5-10 minutes, they will harden. It’s up to you.
Makes about a dozen 1 x 1 inch treats. More if you cut them smaller. Refrigerate to store up to a week.

Alternate:
Increase the Cream of Wheat to 1 cup and the powdered milk to 1/2 cup. Other directions remain the same. This will be a harder treat.

  1. I like this recipe. I am always lookign for new ideas to make homemade treats for our boys (2 dogs- lab mix and terrier mix). I think they will enjoy these.
